Long Phan

I have been a digital artist for over 12 years. I live in San Diego, am married, and have a wonderful 3 year old daughter. I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Design. GO BRUINS! I enjoy going to the beach with my family and am an avid sports fan.

I have been involved in the game industry for more than twelve years. I have work recently on various projects as a Lead Character T.D. for Sony's Cinematics division and Technicolor Interactive. My responsibilities include communicating with the Leads from other departments to engineer the working pipeline, managing a group of artists, programming in Mel and Python to batch certain processes, building user interfaces, and creating random tools to make the work flow more efficient. In addition, the projects often required me to model, rig, and animate under tight deadline constraints. The projects I've done include Lair 2006 and2007, Socom2005 and 2006, Neopets, Major League Baseball 2004 to 2006, NFL Icons, The Super Bowl, Rise To Honor, and Twisted Metal.

I have a strong understanding of art principles from my past experience as Art Director and Lead Game Artist. These positions required me to be responsible for creating characters, painting backgrounds, and maintaining the look and feel for numerous game projects. As a result, I have developed a good sense for color, perspective, and overall layout composition.
